Lip filler (lip augmentation) is an aesthetic medicine treatment in which a hyaluronic acid based product is injected into the lips. How the treatment works

We always start with a free consultation: your expectations, an assessment of the lips and face, and a medical interview covering contraindications. The treatment itself is a precise injection of hyaluronic acid into selected points of the lips. Most products contain lidocaine, an anaesthetic, and a numbing cream can be applied on top, so discomfort is minor.

Directly after the treatment the lips are enlarged partly by swelling. Over the first 1-2 weeks the lips settle and only then is the final shape visible, so do not book the treatment right before an important event.

Effect, duration and safety

The effect usually lasts 6 to 12 months, depending on metabolism, the amount of product and lifestyle. An important advantage: the effect is reversible, the product can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if needed. We work with certified hyaluronic acid, we show the product packaging on request, and needles and cannulas are single use only. We do not perform the treatment during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active herpes, inflammation around the lips, blood clotting disorders, active autoimmune disease or allergy to the product ingredients.
